I’ll be honest. I am used to reading insults and name calling from folks on social media. But, when it comes from a prominent Congressman in my home state of South Carolina—it takes on a whole new meaning.

Take a look for yourself at what Congressman Jim Clyburn said about me, on the record, in a recent interview.

"If you really want to be honest about it, that one in the Senate…sounds like tokenism," Clyburn said.

“That one in the Senate?”

Excuse me Congressman Clyburn, I have a name. It is Tim Scott, and I am a proud Black conservative who is blessed to represent the great people of South Carolina in the United States Senate.

Can you help me ensure that every Democrat knows my name and knows that I am a proud Black Republican?

Democrats cannot stand that I am a proud, Black Republican. They cannot stand that my family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.

You see, my story doesn’t fit their narrative. So instead of debating the issues, they turn to casual racism and name calling.

Fellow Conservative, I have grown accustomed to these types of insults and frankly it only makes me more determined than ever to fight for our conservative values.

Can you help me ensure that every Democrat knows my name and knows that I am a proud Black Republican?
