Hi there,

Growing up, my family and I would go to my grandparents’ house after church -- our whole family, Democrats and Republicans alike, would sit around the kitchen table and talk politics.

Now, we didn’t always agree on the issues, but we never walked away angry or stopped respecting each other because of our differences. And that’s how I believe it should be, at home and in Washington.

Issues like creating better jobs and lowering the costs of prescription drugs aren’t partisan. That’s why I’m willing to work with ANYONE who’s serious about delivering for Iowans.

I’m a co-sponsor of the CREATES Act and Protecting Consumer Access to Generic Drugs Act -- both bipartisan pieces of legislation that aim to require more transparency from pharmaceutical manufacturers and make affordable generic options more available to consumers.

Last month, I heard from my neighbors in IA-01 about how much stress the costs of prescription medication places on Iowans who work their tails off to provide for their families.

I know the best way that we can bring down the costs of life-saving medication and make healthcare more affordable is by working together. That’s why I’ll continue working with anyone who is committed to tackling kitchen table issues that will better the lives of hard working Americans.

I’ve been serving in Congress for eight months now -- and every day, I’m focused on how I can achieve real results for the people I represent.

Thank you for trusting me to fight for you and your family.

Abby
