Friend -

MarchForMoms is undergoing changes, as many organizations like ours have been forced to do during this global pandemic.

We started as a march - and right now, in-person gatherings aren’t in the best interest of anyone attending.

We have been sounding the alarms about the growing maternal death crisis in the US, one that impacts minorities in America more than any other group - and as COVID-19 has spread across the country, Black and brown moms have faced disproportionate health challenges.

As a lifelong maternal health practitioner and advocate, I know that when a situation feels like it is quickly evolving and out of control, that is the time we have to slow down and dig in. We have to pay attention to the details and make deliberate decisions that prioritize the individuals involved.

With your support, MarchForMoms will continue to advocate for moms during this global pandemic - our voices will continue to be heard. And we can’t wait until our march next year to raise awareness and help train new advocates.

This month, we released our biggest advocacy tool to date - the guide to becoming an effective advocate. With this digital-first approach, we are able to train more advocates, healthcare providers, and families to advocate for life-saving improvements in healthcare practices and better access to maternal health care.

I, for one, am proud of the work the MarchForMoms team has been able to do in the face of unexpected change and turmoil. Our team has demonstrated a resolve to remain committed to the work - to dig in and slow down and prioritize the individuals who need us most - moms and families impacted by loss and near-death events.

Thank you for being with us, friend. If you haven’t had a chance, please show your support for MarchForMoms today. [[link removed]]

Supporters and advocates like you make it possible for our team to continue to grow this movement that will change policies and save lives.

Working for you, moms, and moms-to-be,

Ginger
