Dear John,

We don’t have a labor party in this country. We have a party of unapologetic fascists, contending with a corporate-center-conservative party.

Issues like Medicare for All, rent and mortgage relief, or universal basic income never get to the house floor—despite widespread support—even for a discussion.  Why is that?  Because Nancy Pelosi controls what is brought up to the House floor, and when.

Whose interests does she advance? Corporate interests and deep pocketed campaign contributors that don’t want change.

Worse, Speaker Pelosi could have delayed Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearings. Pelosi uniquely has the power to force the Senate to consider new Articles of Impeachment, for either President Trump or Attorney General Barr. Pelosi chose not to act.

Who is Pelosi protecting? It certainly isn’t her constituents.

Nancy Pelosi has not debated anyone since Ronald Reagan was in the White House. She was not elected to be a queen.  She was elected to be a representative of the people of San Francisco, and to be re-elected every two years with an actual election process that includes a public discussion with an opponent.

We can not change who is at the top of the ticket for the election on November 3rd, but we can certainly continue to ask Pelosi whose interests she represents.

Which side are you on?
