"I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you."
- Colossians 4:18
Africa
- Praise God for a conviction in Gulu, Uganda of a man who brutally assaulted his long-term partner. We are grateful for the good work of the public prosecutor and judiciary who convicted and sentenced him to six years in prison after five months of trial. Please pray for the survivor, as she suffered severe injuries from her partner's attack and will require further medical care and surgeries to recover fully. Pray also for emotional healing for her and the four children that she and her partner have together.
Latin America
- Please continue to pray for successful high-impact capacity building sessions with justice system officials that will continue throughout all of 2019. Pray that God may guide those facilitating - that He will grant them wisdom and the ability to communicate effectively. Also, pray that participants in these sessions will embrace the teachings and make the very real issue of sex trafficking in the Dominican Republic their issue and continue to join IJM in our fight against this horrendous crime.
South Asia
- Please pray for our relationship with a Police Chief in a new city where we're working. We are hoping to work together on police trainings and rescue operations, but this official has been quite suspicious of NGOs and has resisted our partnership. Pray for growth in our relationships with his unit, so he can see the value of our collaboration. Pray we could work together soon to find and rescue girls in desperate need.
Southeast Asia
- Please pray for the safety of our teams in Bangkok and Cambodia. Our teams of Thai and Khmer staff are working on the frontlines, alongside authorities, to identify and rescue victims of forced labor trafficking. We are also working to uncover the criminal networks that enslave vulnerable workers in the fishing industry and hold them accountable. As our teams come in close contact to those who profit off of forced labor - the recruiters, brokers, ship owners and other traffickers - pray that God would protect them from harm.

- Praise God for survivors who are leading the justice movement in their communities and around the world. In particular, please pray for several survivors who are preparing to share their stories at events this fall. Please ask God to pour out creativity and joy on these survivor leaders, and ask God to grant IJM wisdom as we support these survivors in the process of sharing their stories.
