John, this isn’t the email we wanted to send today, but it’s the one that we must.

Here’s the situation: Our team sets regular fundraising goals to make sure our critical get-out-the-vote activities are as strong as they can possibly be. They’re definitely ambitious, but in these times, we can’t afford to think small.

In just the past few months, we’ve launched powerful programs to elect Cori, win the people’s seat, build progressive momentum across the country, defeat Donald Trump, and help flip Missouri blue. Yeah, we weren’t exaggerating when we said ambitious.

But we’re facing a big problem: At this moment, we’re running seriously behind on our most recent fundraising goal. When something like that happens, we only have two options – find a way to catch up, or cut back on critical programs.

These turnout operations are incredibly powerful, especially right now. Across the country, programs just like ours have led to historically high levels of early voting. Young people, seniors, Black and brown folks, nearly every demographic is turning out to take down the most xenophobic, racist, and sexist presidency in modern history.
