John — This week I was featured in an article by Politico focusing on the importance of bipartisanship in Arizona’s state government.

That’s the thing about this position — I believe that when it comes to this office, there's just no place for partisan politics. Historically, this office has been abused in exactly that way. And I refuse to repeat that behavior.

Because when it comes to public safety in our community, there is no place for political games.

In fact, on the wall of my office I have a note that reads, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." We must continue to fight against the Arpaio-Sheridan administration because we cannot afford to let the hate and division they harbor back into our community.

Our constituents, on both sides of the political aisle, yearn to see leaders who they know will speak truthfully and will not spew hurtful language across the county. We deserve better than that.
