Exploitation, abuse, and discrimination against domestic workers can all be COMPLETELY LEGAL. And they happen every day. Let’s outlaw this exploitation now.

John -- there are just HOURS LEFT until this petition closes before Congress returns, and it looks like you haven't joined yet.

This is a critical opportunity to end generations of LEGAL abuse and discrimination -- Add your name to demand our elected leaders pass the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights »

Our original message is below. Thanks for speaking out!

National Domestic Workers Alliance

John,

Millions of nannies, housekeepers, and caregivers across the nation are vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and discrimination at work -- and often it's COMPLETELY LEGAL.

Yes, you read that right -- domestic workers are simply excluded from some of the basic labor protections other workers take for granted.

A new bill in Congress right now would END this injustice. Sign this petition now to demand our elected leaders stand up for working people and pass the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights »

A typical story: A nanny, a mother of two, works 12-hour days to make just enough money to keep her kids fed.

She may have NO breaks -- maybe even NO meals -- and she can get fired on a moment's notice and left with no options.

She works all day taking care of others' kids so she can support her own kids. She works hard to support her family -- and she deserves the same fundamental protections we all enjoy at work.

And sadly, this story could be even worse. Too often domestic workers face horrific sexual harassment on the job and are left with zero recourse.

It's time for us to take care of the people who take care of us. Are you ready to protect our domestic workers?

The National Domestic Workers Alliance is partnering with Daily Kos and a coalition of organizations across the country to demand Congress take action and pass the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.

We have an ambitious goal to drive 50,000 signatures on this petition. Signing this petition not only puts pressure on our elected leaders, but it also helps us build this movement by supporting and mobilizing our partners. If you signed our previous Bill of Rights petition, sign this one too (it takes less than a minute)!

Will you join us in restoring justice, dignity, and respect for domestic workers?

Thank you for standing up and fighting to ensure that domestic workers have the guarantees and protections that they deserve.
