The federal minimum wage for tipped restaurant workers is $2.13 per hour.

That is NOT enough to survive — especially with a family to support. Think about that.

Then ask yourself why Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans refuse to hold a vote on legislation to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.

That’s why Hakeem’s doing something about it. Just recently, he served restaurant workers in Brooklyn to shed light on what it’s like to work a minimum wage job while supporting a family.
