Our Advocacy for Children

Our state and national policy teams are hard at work ensuring that the voices of America's children are heard throughout this election season and beyond. Here are some of the ways we advocated for children and their families this month:

Immigration: We condemned the cruelty of the Trump administration's continued family separations, after a draft report unearthed by the New York Times proved cruelty is the point. Learn more.

Child Poverty: We highlighted new research that shows 2.5 million more children have fallen into poverty since May as Congress has let COVID-19 relief expire and failed to pass additional relief. Learn more.

Education: We published a new brief about the impacts of COVID-19 that underscores the immense role schools play in supporting our country's children, even outside of academic enrichment. Learn more.

Racial Justice & Child Poverty: We shared how Congress could lift millions of children out of poverty by strengthening the Child Tax Credit into a monthly child allowance, as outlined in the American Family Act. Learn more.

Child Wellbeing: We endorsed new legislation introduced by House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Maloney and Congresswoman Pressley, the Children's Protection Act, that would ensure our regulatory process prioritizes children's health and wellbeing. Learn more.

Parental Leave: We shared the reflections from a member of our leadership team who had recently returned from parental leave on how critical that time was for him and his young son. Learn more.

Help make sure vulnerable children will not get left behind as our country responds to this pandemic. Donate to the Children in Crisis Fund >
