I need to ask you a favor.

 

Every day since my daughter was murdered in Parkland, I've been fighting to expose everyone and everything responsible, and to educate parents about how to keep their kids safe in school.

I’ve had successes and setbacks. At the state and federal level, I helped pass historic school safety legislation and got the President to rescind harmful school discipline leniency policies. But at the local level, I couldn’t persuade Broward County voters that anything needed to change after the most avoidable mass murder in American history happened in their own backyard.

 

But now, my biggest project is about to begin: to tell the full, untold story of why Parkland happened. I have turned my independent investigation into a book that I hope will wake parents up and spark the kind of change across the country that I couldn't make happen on my own in Broward.

 

It’s titled: Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies that Created the Parkland Shooter and Endanger America's Students.

 

I want this book to be a bestseller so that America can learn the true story behind the most avoidable school shooting in history, and so that parents can know what actions they must take to keep their kids safe. Because the policies that caused Parkland have been forced into thousands of schools serving millions of students across America. And nothing will change unless parents get informed and involved.

 

Before losing the school board race last year, I figured this book would sell a million copies. The facts are so shocking, the story so compelling, everyone would have to pay attention and take action. Now, unfortunately, I'm not so sure. In fact, the publisher isn't even planning on printing enough copies to make a NYT Bestseller a possibility.

 

I have to increase orders to persuade the publisher that enough parents will care.
