Mail-in balloting has been a safe, reliable and fair system of voting for years. Elected officials themselves, including the President, regularly rely on it to cast their own votes. But at this late hour—and after the intentional and corrupt hijacking of the U.S. Postal Service to slow down delivery in an attempt to suppress the vote—it is imperative that any American who has not yet returned their mail-in or absentee ballot so do, as quickly as possible, via an official ballot dropbox or at their local polling place during early voting or on November 3.
The Trump Administration, Republican party and Republican-held state legislatures have been working—and will continue to work—to steal an election they know they cannot win if all votes are counted. And now, this anti-democratic plan has an illegitimate Supreme Court that may willingly aid their efforts.
The only way to prevent such an outcome is to create such a large landslide victory for Joe Biden that attorneys, donors, elected officials and the American public immediately recognize any attempt to interfere in vote counting as the cowardly, oppressive scheme that it is. In a democracy, it should not be necessary for the winner to win by more than a single vote. But that is tomorrow’s fight. Today’s is to save our country.
