Democrat,
When the Blue Wave hit in 2018, Democrats flipped congressional districts all over New Jersey and one of the most impressive victories was in the 7th District which includes Hunterdon County and parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, and Warren. That was where former Obama State Department official Tom Malinowski defeated a longtime Republican incumbent. Since then Congressman Malinowski has distinguished himself as a leading voice on issues ranging from helping small businesses and families get through the pandemic to middle class tax relief, and now he’s running for re-election.

Tom Malinowski has shown true political courage in his short time in Congress. Tom refuses corporate PAC money. He was one of the first members of Congress from a competitive district in the country to announce his support for impeaching President Trump, a principled stance that won him praise from across the country. More recently, he has faced down death threats after taking on dangerous conspiracy theories that are doing real harm to our country. You can learn more about Congressman Malinowski here on his website [[link removed]] .
His opponent, State Senator Tom Kean Jr., has been a different story. Kean has cozied up to President Trump, attending his rally in Atlantic City last year and adopting his dishonest talking points [[link removed]] about health care and COVID-19 [[link removed]] . He’s even run a blatantly false ad campaign that has been called out by numerous media outlets. It’s absolutely clear that Tom Kean, Jr., will be as bad in Washington as he has been for 20 years in Trenton and we need to rally behind Congressman Malinowski.
