Stop the insanity

John,

Something you and I both treasure is being destroyed before our
eyes.

Our most precious public lands are in peril. Fortunately, there
is a way you can help.

Two years ago, the Trump Administration removed protections for
most of Bear's Ears National Monument, reducing it to just 15
percent of its original size. Now they've released a plan for the
remaining 15 percent that allows off-road vehicles, cell towers and
power lines, and removing large areas of trees by ripping them down
with chains.

This came shortly after the administration indicated it would
allow uranium mining on land adjacent to the Grand Canyon, destroying
its magnificent viewshed and poisoning the water used by both visitors
and local residents.

Meanwhile, the most important source of conservation funding in
our nation, the Land and Water Conservation Fund, is being
short-changed in Congress. According to statute, $900 million in
non-taxpayer funds can be allocated to the LWCF each year ... but
in its 2020 budget, the House set out $524 million, and it looks as
though the Senate will provide even less.

This is insane.

Our nation's public lands provide jobs, food, and recreation
for millions of Americans. They don't belong to politicians or
to corporations, they belong to all of us.

The Trust for Public Land is focused on conserving land for
people to enjoy, from neighborhood parks to national parks. We depend
on the ongoing support of individuals - concerned people just
like you - to make sure our work carries on well into the
future.

If you believe that our public lands belong to all of us, that
they should be protected and preserved rather than exploited, then
please help us make that happen. Become a member of The Trust for
Public Land, and take a stand for the things you believe in.

We both want the same thing - for lands of natural,
historical, and cultural significance to be protected and preserved
for all Americans, now and in the future. Please take that extra
step to help make it possible.
