John,

If you didn't see the note from Roy this morning, there are two key takeaways:

First: Despite historic levels of early turnout voting, this election is going to be close! We need to hit our $400,000 Path to Progress Victory Fund goal to keep mobilizing voters and ensure every vote is counted.

And second: Our far-right opponent and his dark-money backers are funding a flood of negative attack ads, all while Donald Trump makes constant visits to our state to hold rallies to fire up his base.

We're still $140,000 behind our $400,000 goal, and with only five days to go we can't afford for our momentum to slow down at all.

John, I know I've been sending a lot of them, but I really don't like emailing people for money.

But, we have just five days until this election is over and we're seeing new negative attack ads directed against us. We can fight back, but we need your help. So, I'm asking: can you pitch in $10?

You've heard it a lot, because it's true: this is the most important election of our lifetime.

That's why our team is working around the clock to make sure we're not leaving one single vote on the table -- but our race is on track to be one of the most expensive governor's races in the country this year.

Dark money groups are spending nearly $10 million dollars running negative attack ads against me, including one launched this week. And Donald Trump keeps coming back to our state in this closing stretch to help swing this election for my opponent. We need the resources to compete.

Whether or not we win comes down to how many voters we reach in these final days. That's why raising another $145,000 to reach our Path to Progress Victory Fund goal is critical, but right now we're falling behind where we need to be.

This election is going to be close, John. So if you're able, can I count on you to pitch in $10 to help us fight back against these negative ads and continue to mobilize historic numbers of voters?

Our victory in 2016 was hard-fought -- we won by only two votes per precinct. That's right. Two. This grassroots team helped me cross the finish line then, and your support today will help us do it again.

Roy

P.S. - Early voting closes on Saturday. Lines might be long then, and on Election Day, so if you haven't already, make sure to get your vote in as early as possible!
We hope everyone is staying safe during this ongoing health emergency. The Cooper Campaign is now working remotely, and we encourage all those who are able to practice social distancing. We've taken the step of cancelling all in-person fundraising for the time being, making grassroots online outreach and fundraising even more critical than before. Roy and the rest of the team will keep working for a more prosperous, better-educated, and healthy North Carolina, and we hope you will stay with us in this fight.
