Is your family hungry? Is the store out of meat?

You don't need fancy gear or knowledge to hunt and eat reptiles: just a knife or spear and some basic info to ID the dangerous ones will get you started.

It may sound less than appetizing because they aren't a part of the traditional diet for us, but reptiles can be a simple source of protein to acquire.

In my travels, I've personally eaten more than one kind of snake as well as alligator meat. It wasn't bad at all. I suggest not mentioning what's for dinner to pickier family members until after they've eaten, if they ask at all. (Sometimes, for some people, it's just better not to know.)

Have you eaten any reptiles? What kind and how was it prepared? Let's talk about it in the comments.
