With just a few days left in this election, I wanted to drop you a quick personal note on what’s at stake...
When I served in the Army, it didn’t matter how much money someone had, where they came from, the color of their skin or who they voted for in the last election. All that mattered was working together to complete the mission: defending the United States of America.
After an improvised explosive device ripped off my legs, I knew I couldn’t let my only service to my country be behind me. So, I learned to walk again, graduated from Harvard and set my sights on a new battlefield: the halls of Congress.
I’ve brought the service before self approach from the Army to my job representing our community in Congress. When someone walks into our office, it doesn’t matter if they voted for me or not. It doesn’t matter if they donated to my opponent, me or nobody at all. All that matters is that they are a member of our community that needs help, and it’s my job to fight for them with everything I’ve got.
In this election, my opponent Pam Keith disagrees. She’s said that if “you don’t give me your vote or your money, I don’t gotta listen to you.” She’s demonized Republicans as “traitors,” “racist,” “stupid” and “white supremacist.” She’s echoed Hillary Clinton, calling members of our community “deplorable.” And she even published a hit list of conservatives to target with an “open season” of violence.
We can’t let her succeed at poisoning our community with her hateful ideology because if she succeeds it’ll leave more than half of our neighbors without a representative to turn to when the going gets tough. We all need a helping hand every once in a while, but Pam Keith has made it clear she won’t be there to offer that help unless you’re a Democrat or donated to her.
Can I count on you to lend a helping hand during this most critical final stretch of the campaign? Together, we can put a stop to Pam Keith’s anti-Republican hatred:
