Hey John,
There’s just 1 week left until the election? Yeah, I’m shocked too.
Whether you’ve voted or still need to, made hundreds of voter phone calls
and texts or have just talked to a few friends and family, this week is
your last chance to do SOMETHING to convince just a few more people to
vote. And you don’t want to regret not speaking up.
[ [link removed] ]So here’s what you can do: take your phone or your computer, look into
the camera, and speak for 30 seconds about why voting matters to you.
That’s it. Just 30 seconds. Over 50 people have already made elections
videos with us this year.
[ [link removed] ]Record a 30 second video on why you care about voting
We even have some talking points below to help you out if you’re nervous.
But you shouldn’t be; you know what you think, and people who care about
you will listen if you speak. So why not make a quick video in this last
week before the election?
What can you do with this video once it’s done? We’ll do some professional
editing to make it look nice, then send it back to you and you can share
it ANYWHERE: Facebook, email, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube. Wherever you
want your voice to be heard, you can share it there.
Plus, if we like your video, we might share it on our social media too! A
little election week stardom never hurt anybody.
So go ahead and speak your truth! [ [link removed] ]Record a video to tell people to get
out there and vote, and we guarantee you that your last week before the
election will be an impactful one.

TALKING POINTS TO HELP GUIDE YOUR VIDEO MESSAGE
These are just guides! Talk about your own experience and opinions first
and foremost. Don’t feel pressured to squeeze all or any of these in!
1. Start your video by sharing what city and state you’re from, if you’re
comfortable!
2. This is your last call to vote!
* This week is your last chance to vote! Make sure you send in your
ballot, get to an early voting site, or make a plan to vote on
Election Day! Don’t miss your chance to use your voice.
* Ask yourself these questions:
* When are you going to vote? Will you vote by mail, vote early
or on Election Day? Are you prepared to stand in lines?
* How will you get to the polls? Do you need a ride?
* What do you need to bring? Does your state require ID?
* Who will you bring with you? Can you bring a family member, a
neighbor, a friend, etc?
* The Voter Suppression Hotline is 866-OUR-VOTE. Call this
number if you experience any barriers to voting
3. Your local elections will have a huge impact on all the issues you care
about.
* Your tax dollars are paying locally elected officials to do their jobs
and ensure Black communities have the investment and protection they
deserve, so don’t let your money be wasted
* You have the opportunity to vote for people who are going to listen
when your community demands police reforms and other changes to fight
for Black lives
* Local and small businesses need economic relief from the pandemic, and
your locally elected officials will be in charge of ensuring that
relief is applied equitably
4. Why we need to elect Joe Biden.
* As President, Joe Biden will do what Donald Trump has failed to do by
working hard to stop the spread of coronavirus, and make sure no one
is left out of the financial recovery we need
* Biden will prioritize getting everyone the quality healthcare they
need, including ending racial disparities in healthcare access.
* He will expand access to high-quality education and tackle racial
inequity in our education system.
* He will protect the right to vote and the right to equal protection
for Black people
5. End your video by telling people to vote THIS WEEK for Joe Biden for US
President, to elect candidates who care about racial justice at the local
and state levels, and to encourage their friends and family to do the
same!
PLEASE READ: Video Recording Tips
1. You should aim to make your video 1 minute 30 seconds or less! If you
try recording and it cuts you off, please record again.
2. You can record your video on your phone or your computer. If you do it
on your phone, it's best to record it directly on your phone's camera app
and then try to upload it [ [link removed] ]by clicking "Upload Your Video" on the video
page.
Sometimes the video files are too large to upload, and it may be taking a
long time. If this happens, [ [link removed] ]you can upload the video to Google Drive by
following these directions and email it to
[email protected].
3. Record in a place with good lighting and without too much background
noise
