Personally Speaking: You’ve Got a Friend in Me Hello John, We are excited to share with you the fourth Personally Speaking blog in our 12-part series of staff stories. This week’s blog is from our development and communications manager, Emily Kubera. Emily joined the Treatment Advocacy Center because, as she writes in her blog, “I wanted to work for an organization that fought for people and told their stories. And that’s what the Treatment Advocacy Center does.” For Emily, her work is personal. In her blog, Emily shares her experience of trying to help her friend who had a manic episode and tried to end her life. Emily drove her to the hospital, believing that would help, but was left confused and frustrated when her friend was able to check herself out after only three days. We know that you are frustrated with the broken mental healthcare system and the revolving door of treatment, too. To help us continue fighting to change the system, make a donation here. Please give to the Treatment Advocacy Center today. Thank you.
