This month marked 5 years since Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team earned our first mandate in 2015, and 1 year since earning our second mandate to keep Canada moving forward in 2019.
After two successful by-elections in Toronto Centre and York Centre, we’re looking forward to welcoming Marci Ien and Ya’ara Saks as our newest Liberal MPs. With their election, there will now be 100 women representing Canadians in the House of Commons for the first time in history.
Justin Trudeau and our Liberal government continued to move forward with our plan to keep Canadians safe and supported through this pandemic, and to build back better with bold action on health, the economy, the environment, and equality.
The Liberal government announced that we will modernize Canada’s Environmental Protection Act and move forward with our plan to ban harmful single-use plastics by 2021.
Justin Trudeau announced a $10 billion plan for new investments in infrastructure which will create good new jobs, connect more households and small businesses to high-speed internet, strengthen Canadian agriculture, help build a low-carbon economy, and much more.
The Liberal government moved forward with the new Rapid Housing Initiative to provide $1 billion to quickly create up to 3,000 permanent new units of affordable housing across Canada.
With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to reach out to tens of thousands of Canadians in our sixth Virtual Weekend of Action.
And the new Team Trudeau nominations process for the 44th General Election was announced this month so that we can continue to elect even more talented, diverse, and hardworking community leaders as new Liberal MPs to help keep Canada moving forward.
