Hi there,

Thousands of you have stepped up to give support to our vision of a Green New Deal in Berkeley. We are on the brink of a historic upset. But to push forward our progressive vision, we’ll need allies in City Hall. Many of you have asked: who should we vote for in other races on the ballot? Well, here are my recommendations.

District 2 City Council

Cheryl Davila: Cheryl has had the boldest plans for climate change, and has consistently been the strongest environmental voice on the council.

(Rank Timothy Carter 2, Terry Taplin 3)

District 4 City Council

Paul Picklesimer and Todd Andrew: Both believe in harnessing the innovative spirit of Berkeley to push forward important climate and housing reforms.

(Rank Paul or Todd 1 and 2)

District 6 City Council

Richard Illgen: Richard is a long-time attorney and activist with strong progressive credentials. Unlike Susan Wengraf, he will vote for police reform and bolder climate policy.

Rent Board

Mari Mendonca: Mari has been described as the conscience of the Rent Board for a reason: she always says and does what she thinks is right. In the game of politics, people like her are few and far between.

If you have questions about these recommendations, let me know!

Best,

Wayne
