Voting ends in just five days. If you're like me, you'll be a big ball of nerves in these last few days leading up to Election Day.

What helps me deal with pre-election anxiety is to focus on the things I can control, not the things I can't. One of the most important things you can do is donate so Democrats have the resources to win -- if you're already on board, go ahead and contribute right now.

We can't do anything about whether the polls are accurate, whether we'll know the results on November 3, or what comes out of the president's mouth when vote totals start rolling in. But we can all help turn out every last voter to vote for Democrats up and down the ballot.

Some people assume that, this close to Election Day, there isn't enough time to spend new donations coming in. Nothing could be further from the truth -- ESPECIALLY in the local, down-ballot races that will determine which party controls redistricting in 2021.

State legislative races can be won and lost on the slimmest of margins. In 2018, control of the Virginia House of Delegates was handed to Republicans after the winner of a tied race was drawn out of a bowl! In a race that close, money coming in just a few days before the election can make a huge difference.

These races also have much smaller budgets. Every dollar can go a long way toward reaching more voters -- and when races are decided by just a few dozen votes, every last voter matters.

I know we're all exhausted by the last four years, and we're terrified by the prospect of another four. But scrolling through Twitter doesn't help Democrats win -- making your first donation does.

This election is the most important of our lifetimes, and we only have five days left to impact the outcome. Once the final polling place closes on November 3, we have to live with the consequences of what we did -- or didn't do -- to win. So I'm asking one last time -- will you make a contribution right now to help the NDRC win down-ballot races for Democrats across the country?
