No other country in the world is paying out $2 billion in police misconduct damages. No other country in the world incarcerates their citizens at the same rate as ours.

Real Justice

This is infuriating, John.

In the past 5 years alone, the largest 20 police departments have paid out over $2,000,000,000 for their repeated violence and misconduct1.

That’s right, out of 10,000 police departments, 20 of them are responsible for over TWO BILLION dollars worth of damages due to police brutality since 2015.

These numbers show just how destructive and broken our justice system truly is, but in many of these worst cities, we have Real Justice-endorsed candidates fearlessly fighting back against the leaders and elected officials who have led us to this point.

Take George Gascón for example – right now his campaign is fighting tooth and nail to unseat DA Jackie Lacey and enact critical change to reform the largest jail system in America. If we want leaders like George to win their race and end the vicious cycle of police brutality we need to show up, show out, and fight for them.

John, we only have 6 days left to support our 14 reform champions running for powerful District Attorney and judicial positions this election and we’re going to need a wave of support — will you make a $10 donation to Team Real Justice to help boost our efforts before Election Day? Contribute $5

Let's make this clear, John: This is not normal.

No other country in the world is paying out $2 billion in police misconduct damages. No other country in the world incarcerates their citizens at the same rate as ours.

But this election we have a chance to make big changes and take a leap forward in transforming our legal systems. Real Justice endorsed candidates represent a significant threat to the status quo of a legal system that upholds injustice and oppression, but allows many to profit off of doing so.

Right now, there are 14 Real Justice-endorsed candidates running historic campaigns this November, 7 of whom are reform champions working to #FliptheBench in New Orleans, a city that has been plagued by mass incarceration. If we give them the grassroots support they need to compete and reach out to voters, they will be able to fight in office for reform and dismantle systemic oppression in our legal systems.

These campaigns require a massive amount of support – from digital and TV ads to resources for their on-the-ground organizing teams, the costs can really add up. And with anti-reform groups and big money PACs throwing millions at our opposition, our 14 candidates are going to need a wave of support to fight back.

Team Real Justice relies on grassroots support from people just like you. Will you make a contribution of anything you can to Team Real Justice so we can end out these last 6 days as strong as possible?

Let’s do this,
Real Justice
