John,
This week, Kansas surpassed 1,000 total COVID-19 deaths and cases around the state continue to rise. Each one of these Kansans was someone’s child, parent, or grandparent.
It is up to all of us to do our part to put politics aside and halt the spread of this virus. We cannot afford to wait another moment.
John, the science is clear: when we all wear our masks, we reduce the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a mask isn't a political statement. It's the right thing to do to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our state safe from this pandemic.
Yesterday, I convened a meeting with a bipartisan group of legislators. Together, we agreed to reach out to county and city leadership, as well as stakeholder groups, to urge them to implement their own mask requirements. We must move as quickly as possible and stand united to protect Kansans’ lives and our economy.
I’m asking you to join us as well. Add your name to urge local leadership to implement a mask requirement in all communities immediately.

Wearing a mask is a simple action and an effective way to control the pandemic. This is our chance to change the future of our state and end the spread of COVID-19.
Thank you,
Laura Kelly
