Hi friend,

It's Rashida!

As the first two Muslim women in Congress, Ilhan and I have not only developed a deep friendship, but also a true sisterhood.

Because Ilhan is an outspoken Black woman, a first-generation refugee, and wears a hijab, she's received unrelenting racist, Islamophobic, sexist, and xenophobic attacks.

But she hasn't let that stop her from pushing for bold policies like Medicare for All, a housing guarantee, universal school meals, and cancellation of student debt. She's an incredible ally in Congress who centers the people of our progressive movement in her work, and I'm inspired by her every day.

In these final days of voting, please donate $5 to Ilhan now to counter right-wing smears and show the strength of our progressive movement. [link removed]
We know that it's not only hate spurring right-wing candidates across the country to smear Ilhan in their speeches and their campaign ads. They're also afraid of our growing power.

The GOP sees our progressive movement as a threat, so they've poured millions of dollars into making Ilhan a common enemy in their anti-progress propaganda.

And now, Donald Trump's hand-picked Republican candidate in her district recently announced that his campaign raised more than $10 million to defeat Ilhan and our movement -- which he's using to run more deceptive ads and attacks.

We can't let them intimidate us or suppress our voices. Ilhan's team is running a community-centered campaign to Get Out the Vote in Minnesota, which we need this year given that Hillary Clinton only won the state by a slim margin in 2016.

Donate $5 now to support Ilhan's organizing efforts to fight back against Trump, empower communities, inform voters, and encourage people to cast their ballots for progressives up and down the ballot. [link removed]
Together, we'll keep building the power we need to shape the future we all deserve.

In solidarity,

Rashida Tlaib
