After a reporter asked Trump whether he would commit to a peaceful
transfer of power – win or lose – after the election he said:
"We're going to have to see what happens.” - Trump
He went on to say: “You know I’ve been complaining very strongly about the
ballots...get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful
[transfer]...there won’t be a transfer." This is Trump’s plan, plain and
simple.
Our entire democracy and climate is on the line,
John. We know we cannot win a
Just Recovery for our communities without just elections.
We need a national mobilization immediately after the election to signal
that we, the people, demand that every vote is counted. That’s why we’ve
partnered with Protect the Results to mobilize at over 403+ events across
the country on Wednesday, November 4 and Saturday, November 7.

We’re doing everything we can to get out the climate vote now, elect Green
New Deal Champions, and secure the leadership we need in the White House.
But we need to be ready to protect the work we’ve done if Trump tries to
bully and cheat his way through this election.
Voters overwhelmingly want to elect candidates who will protect the
climate – but if our votes aren’t counted, our voices for climate action
won’t be heard.^1
There’s a very good chance we will not know the results of the election
for days (or longer) after Election Day on November 3. That’s why we are
rising up to demand that every vote is counted before election results are
called and that the next government sworn in is the one elected by the
people.
Trump has repeatedly hinted that he will not leave the White House
willingly.^2 He warned that “people would demand that I stay longer” and
even mused about being president for 20 years.^3
We will not allow Trump to follow through on his threats. We will demand
that every vote be counted, even if it takes days or weeks. But it will
take all of us rising up to protect our democracy.

next government sworn in is the one elected by the people. Find or host an
