John,

Twenty-five years ago today, the federal assault weapons ban, which Brady crafted, was signed into law. And 15 years ago today, that ban expired. We know what’s happened since: Odessa, Dayton, Gilroy, Parkland, Aurora, Orlando, Las Vegas, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Sutherland Springs, and so many more. ENOUGH!

Can you take a moment to help us demand that Congress bring back an assault weapons ban?

The consequences of that ban expiring have been devastating for our country.

“In the decade after the ban, there was a 347 percent increase in fatalities in gun massacres, even as overall violent crime continued downward.”

- The New York Times

John, let that sink in for a moment: 347% increase.

These aren’t just numbers or statistics in some faceless ledger. These are children who never come home from school. Brothers and sisters who never hear each other’s laughter. Husbands and wives who can never embrace.

Assault weapons are designed for mass destruction — to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. Since our first ban expired, we're fighting to renew the ban on assault weapons, and today there’s a bill in the House that’s just shy of the number of cosponsors needed to move forward.

Will you take the next step and ask legislators to join the list of co-sponsors so we can pass this bill? Your voice could make the difference!

Together, we can save innocent lives and prevent the mass shootings that wrack America.

Thank you,
Robert Disney
