Election Day is less than a week from today.

Things are moving fast, and soon, everything we've been working toward will be put to the test. I want to take a moment to reflect on why I got into this race in the first place.

I am a former Navy helicopter pilot and former federal prosecutor. I've spent most of my life fighting for our country and our values, and I have continued that fight in Congress representing the people of New Jersey's 11th District.

I'm also a mom of four kids. I'm fighting to ensure my children have a bright future -- quality education, job opportunities, access to health care -- and to ensure my daughters have the same opportunities as my sons.

Here's the problem: President Trump is threatening all we hold dear as a country.

Trump's impulsive actions are a threat to our national security, public health, and economic security. He's threatening the very fabric of who we are as Americans by using fear-mongering to divide us. Sadly, my corporate lobbyist opponent is taking a page out of his playbook.

I believe New Jersey and our country deserve better.

We've been working hard to defend this critical seat in the House so we can continue the work we've started in Congress. I know our fight can be challenging, but we've come so far and it's way too important to give up now.
