That’s what I’m asking you to split between Rep. Lucy McBath’s, Rep. Peter DeFazio’s, and my re-election campaigns. They are important leaders in the House of Representatives who are facing two of the toughest re-elections in the country.

I’ll explain more about why their races matter in just a moment, but if you can go ahead and contribute $3, that would mean a lot to me. Here’s the link:

Peter and Lucy are leaders in the House on some of the most important issues for our movement.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (OR-04) shares our urgent commitment to finding solutions to the impacts of the climate crisis. That’s why he was an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal, and as the chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he will play a critical role in turning our vision for green infrastructure and jobs into reality under a Biden administration. He’s already been working on the plan to make it happen. But first, he has to win this race, and that will be difficult.

This district has been trending toward Republicans, and Hillary Clinton won by only 1% in 2016. Now, Peter’s opponent has dumped $3.7 million into the race and is outspending him 3-to-1. He needs as much support as he can to win.

Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) has been a fantastic freshman member of Congress, and she’s facing her first re-election now. She ran for office after her son Jordan was shot and killed by a man who thought his music was too loud. She turned that pain into purpose, and she has been a leader in the movement to prevent gun violence. Her leadership helped us pass the first gun safety legislation in more than two decades.

But the NRA wants nothing more than to defeat her. She won by just over 3000 votes in 2018 — in a district that Trump won. Republicans are spending more than 2.5 million to stop her, and she’s counting on our movement to have her back.

These races are going to be close, and they are counting on grassroots support right now to win. I need Peter and Lucy fighting alongside me in Congress next year if we are going to win on the Green New Deal and finally pass comprehensive gun safety legislation into law.

So I’m humbly asking you to split a $3 contribution between Peter DeFazio, Lucy McBath, and my re-election. Every dollar will be put to work immediately turning out young and progressive voters to defeat Republicans in critical swing districts and states.

The gun lobby and fossil fuel industry are all-in to defeat these leaders. Republicans know that it would be a tremendous setback for our movement to save lives and save the planet if they win either of these races.
