Dear Supporter,
Fibber, our long-nosed, honesty-in-politics, mascot greeted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at his campaign kick off in Vancouver. Trudeau saw Fibber waving his “balance the budget sign.” So did the media. Check out this great picture.
Here’s why Fibber stuck his long nose into the campaign launch.
In the last election, Trudeau made a crystal clear promise:
“I am looking straight at Canadians and being honest the way I always have,” said Trudeau during the 2015 election. “We’ve said we are committed to balanced budgets and we are. We will balance that budget in 2019.”
Trudeau’s 2019 budget has a $20-billion deficit.
Fibber’s long nose is a hilarious way to make a serious point: Trudeau broke his promise. He said he’d balance the budget and he didn’t. He didn’t even try. And we have to hold him accountable.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is the only one who raised the vital issue of balanced budgets at Trudeau’s campaign kick off. Reporters focused on the latest scandal. Other protesters opposed pipelines. Fibber was the only one standing up for taxpayers and demanding balanced budgets.
