A Trump Administration rule that has forced women's health care clinics to withdraw from critical federal funding could cause 99,000 Ohio women to lose health care -- and it's already starting.
Just a few days ago, Planned Parenthood announced they are closing two clinics right here in Ohio.
We need to demand a stop to the relentless attacks on women's health care. Sign on today →
The dangerous rule prohibits clinics that receive Title X funding -- including Planned Parenthood -- from referring for abortion. But this isn't just about abortion.
This summer, I went to Comprehensive Women's Care in Columbus and heard firsthand accounts from patients who received care during the most difficult moments in their lives: cancer scares, sexual abuse.
This is about health care. It's about cancer screenings, primary care, contraceptives, domestic violence counseling.
This year, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio received $4 million in Title X funding. It operates 19 clinics across the state, which could be forced to close their doors without federal funding. And that's just a snapshot of the people who will be impacted: Nearly 4 million people across the country receive health care under the Title X program.
The Trump Administration specializes in taking away health care. This is just their latest attack. We have to speak out. All of us -- not just women. We all have to be allies in this fight.
Join me in calling for an end to the Trump Administration's endless attempts to dismantle health care for millions of Americans. Sign your name →
We have to show them we are ready, we are organized and we are going to take this fight to them every single day.
With gratitude,
Sherrod
