ACLU of the District of Columbia
You're invited!

Dear ACLU Supporter,

On Thursday, September 19, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform will hear testimony on H.R. 51, the Washington D.C. Admission Act. This hearing is an important opportunity to show the American public that our democracy must fully include the people of D.C.

At the core of our democracy is a simple principle: one person, one vote. Because more than 700,000 D.C. residents are denied their voice by lacking representation in Congress, the ACLU-DC has joined with dozens of local and national organizations to endorse H.R. 51. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton has secured 215 cosponsors for the bill — a record number — and now we need to come out and show our full support!
