In Haiti, making sure people have accurate information about COVID‑19 prevention is crucial for helping families protect themselves. Mercy Corps is leading a group of international and local organizations to conduct a mass public awareness campaign to educate people on the the spread of COVID‑19:

We’re sending text and voicemail messages to over 2.2 million Haitians sharing accurate information about the virus and dispelling rumors, providing tips on hygiene promotion and how to prevent spread.
To broaden our reach, we’re sharing the same messages with local radio stations, television companies and social media influencers on platforms such as WhatsApp, TikTok and Facebook.
We’re also reaching families through Interactive Voice Response (IVR), a free-to-use voice platform for low literacy populations that enables users to interact with a phone call.
To raise awareness among Haitians who don't have access to radio or phones, we’re using sound trucks to spread the word on the street.

There is much more to do in Haiti. In addition to COVID‑19 response, our team is also working with local organizations to address the severe hunger crisis, to connect people in poverty with economic opportunities and to prepare communities for natural disasters like hurricanes.

The challenges we face are immense and complex. But when we come together, we are capable of making a lifesaving impact. With support from global community members like you, our team operates in more than 40 countries around the world, providing clean water, food, medicine and emergency funds.
