Hi friend --

With Amy Coney Barrett newly appointed to the Supreme Court, SCOTUS is now the most conservative it's been since 1950. And despite Barrett's zipped lips on the subject during her nomination hearings, we know the truth: Roe v. Wade is in imminent danger of being overturned.

But there's a way Democrats could protect Americans' right to choose: by codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law. What does codifying the ruling entail? According to Vox Media, the action "would take the question of safe and legal abortion out of the Supreme Court's hands by passing legislation in Congress that guarantees women in every state the right to unfettered access to abortion care."

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, "legal abortion access would be unchanged in more than half of states, but it would effectively end for those living in much of the American South and Midwest, especially those who are poor," the NYT reports. A federal codifying of the ruling would prevent those inequities from becoming reality and preserve ALL Americans' right to choose.

Listen, the Trump administration has inflicted irreparable damage on so many of our human rights -- the right to choose doesn't have to be one of them. That's why we're reaching out to you today. We need to drum up support for Democratic lawmakers who will fight for us as long as they know we're out here. Make your voice heard now:

Do you support codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law?
