John, join us this Thursday at 7 p.m. ET for an uplifting conversation on building resilience and finding community in difficult times.
Fred Guttenberg's powerful new memoir, Find the Helpers: What 9/11 and Parkland Taught Me about Recovery, Purpose, and Hope, will be the backdrop for our special virtual event.
Fred Guttenberg's daughter, Jaime, was only 14 when she was among the 17 people killed in the mass shooting in Parkland, FL. In the days following Jaime’s murder, Fred was struck by a quote from Mr. Rogers: "Always look for the helpers." And sure enough, Fred found that so many people — many of them strangers — met his family with kindness and compassion.
We will talk with Fred Guttenberg, Dr. Dana Winters of the Fred Rogers' Center, and Clayton Rosenberg of the Alliance of Concerned Men and Women about how to find "the helpers" in the face of violence and uncertain times. They will discuss how gun violence impacts Americans, how they have been helped in their journeys, and — amid fears and tensions around a historic Election Day — how we all can be helpers ourselves.
Please join us for this (free) inspiring discussion.
