The Center
Support Our Work

We are excited to introduce our RiseOut Activist-in-Residence Fellowship Program! Through this program, The Center will invest in the next generation of leaders who are committed to transforming social and economic conditions. In this inaugural year, the program seeks to specifically and intentionally support Black LGBTQ New Yorkers as fellows.

We are currently accepting applications, and are looking for project proposals that highlight underrepresented communities and align with RiseOut’s main focus of advancing LGBTQ rights in New York State. Proposals can be for a wide variety of projects—research, storytelling, community building, public education campaigns, visual arts, digital media and more!

Learn More & Apply

Activists-in-Residence receive a range of benefits for their fellowship work. Please note that applications are due by November 13. Do you have questions or want to learn more? Visit our website or email [email protected].

Thanks for all you do,

Trevon Mayers
Director of Policy & Community Outreach

Every Vote Counts: Take Action with Us!
Join us Monday, November 2 at 6 p.m. ET for our final voting text bank. Our goal is to contact 50,000 New Yorkers across the state, reminding them to vote in their federal, state and/or local races. Your help with this outreach is critical: Did you know that in the 2016 presidential election, only 57% of eligible voters in New York cast their ballot? With your help, we can get more people to the polls this year!
Check Out Our Recent Voting Webinar
You can also watch our recent webinar on getting out the vote in New York. We teamed up with our partners at College & Community Fellowship, Dominicanos USA and the League of Women Voters to share tips and important information about how New Yorkers can make sure their voices are heard in this year’s elections.
