Since 2014, Hamas and Hezbollah have spent millions of dollars building massive networks of underground tunnels to infiltrate Israel and attack Israelis.
These tunnels were dug deep underground by terrorists committed to kidnapping and killing Israelis. Many were built beneath homes, schools, hospitals and mosques, using Palestinian and Lebanese civilians as human shields to protect the tunnel entrances.
Tunnel detection technology developed and funded with the help of the United States has enabled Israel to destroy more than 50 of these tunnels to date.
But the threat of terror tunnels persists.
Just last week, the IDF exposed another cross-border terror tunnel built by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza.
The tunnel ran beneath the border into Israel and was designed to carry out attacks against Israelis.
With help from supporters like you, we can continue to work with Congress to strengthen U.S.-Israel strategic cooperation and deliver critical security assistance for technologies like tunnel detection programs that help keep Israel safe.
This summer alone, the House passed $47.5 million for U.S.-Israel anti-tunnel technology cooperation. But we must keep working with Congress to ensure this type of vital support continues.
