Once again, the Trump administration is attacking Americans' rights under the flimsy guise of religious freedom. The U.S. Department of Labor has proposed a rule that would gut nondiscrimination protections for the 1 in 5 Americans who work for federal contractors. These employers would be allowed to engage in discriminatory behavior against their workers on the basis of things like sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion-as long as they assert a religious reason for doing so.
