Hello Friend,
Last night’s results in our by-election proved that people are ready for real change and believe that the Green Party of Canada can deliver it. Even though we did not win, I will continue to be their champion and for Greens all across Canada.
I can’t thank you enough for your support.
Even before the results came in, we had already accomplished what was thought to be impossible. With only a month to campaign, we defied the odds, placing a strong second, taking a third of the vote, and more than quadrupling our 2019 results, and we’re on our way to making real, positive change.
Toronto Centre has long been one of the safest Liberal seats in the country. Nevertheless, I wanted to offer the community the chance to have a true representative after years of neglect. And even though we didn’t get the results we wanted, Toronto Centre residents sent a clear message that they want real representation. Greens here and across the country campaigned with us for a better and brighter future – one that includes a Guaranteed Livable Income, universal pharmacare, affordable housing, one that tackles the climate crisis head on, and one that is serious about reconciliation and Indigenous sovereignty.
This is only the beginning. It took a lot of hard work to get here, and we won’t stop now.
People in Canada can count on me to lead the fight for the future we want to see.
