Friend,
The vote to confirm Amy Coney Barrett as an associate justice of the Supreme Court follows a rushed and deeply flawed process. Never before has a nominee to the Supreme Court been confirmed while a presidential election was already underway. Almost 60 million Americans have cast their ballots. They deserve to have this Supreme Court seat filled by their chosen president.
In confirming Judge Barrett to the Supreme Court, Senate Republicans have abandoned the election year principle they put forth to justify blocking President Obama's Supreme Court nominee in 2016. They have also completely abandoned their duty to serve the American people. To them, it seems, confirming Judge Barrett -- which very well may lead to the overturning of the Affordable Care Act -- is more important than providing relief to the millions of Americans who are struggling to get by during this pandemic.
The stakes could not be higher. Republicans have shown that they will not play by even their own rules. To protect access to health care, the right to choose, the environment, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and so much more, we have to flip the Senate and win back the White House.
There are seven days left until Election Day, and this is going to take everything we've got. Volunteer, make calls, donate -- get involved however you can. And most importantly, vote.

We can do this. We're not giving up.
Sincerely,
Jack Reed
