Dear John,

We have a new Supreme Court justice! Following a successful Senate confirmation vote last night, Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in as the 115th Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court by Justice Clarence Thomas in a short ceremony at the White House. After her swearing-in, Justice Barrett offered remarks that remind us why we want justices like her on the Supreme Court:

"My fellow Americans . . . it is your Constitution that establishes the rule of law and the judicial independence that is so central to it. I love the Constitution and the democratic republic that it establishes, and I will devote myself to preserving it."

Last night was the culmination of a successful confirmation process, one that seemed so uncertain just a few short weeks ago. And yet, in the face of the radical Left's opposition, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Senate Republicans worked with the White House to ensure that this fantastic, pro-life, originalist nominee was confirmed to the Court!
Many of you helped with this confirmation! We are so thankful for your notes and letters to your senators, asking them to support Justice Barrett's confirmation. We needed them! However, Democratic senators who can't stand the thought of a Justice Barrett are now threatening to expand and "pack the Court."

Please take a moment to thank your senators for supporting Justice Barrett or, if they opposed her confirmation, to express your disappointment. You can do so by clicking the "act now" button below. The form will automatically craft a response based on how your senator voted in Sunday's cloture vote to advance Barrett's nomination (a vote that Family Research Council Action scored in its Senate scorecard).

Things are not over yet. There will be many important cases Justice Barrett and the Supreme Court will rule on, and President Trump may yet have the opportunity to appoint even more originalists to the Supreme Court (and continue his many stellar appointments in the lower federal courts).
