Lessons for Teaching About Voter Suppression
We’ve collected some of our favorite high school resources for teaching about voter suppression and how it shapes elections today. We hope these TT-approved activities and lessons offer you some ways to talk with students about the critical importance of casting a ballot—and the reasons why so many Americans still can’t do so.

Teaching the Election and Digital Literacy

As Election Day approaches, your students are encountering plenty of online information about issues that affect them and their communities. Our digital literacy resources can help you teach them to evaluate and check sources for bias, interrupt hate speech, and critically analyze and discuss online information.

Resources for Teaching About Voting for Grades K-8

Launched in 2018, Teaching Tolerance’s Voting and Voices project features resources for empowering elementary and middle school students to become advocates for voting in their communities. This collection provides classroom resources, including posters, videos, lessons, texts and other TT resources.

Professional Development for Teaching About Voting

Help students recognize the value of a diverse democracy in their classrooms, schools and communities. These PD resources include best practices and strategies for building community, tailoring instruction, and engaging families and communities throughout the election season.
