Cori, Jamaal, and I all grew up in union households, which helped shape our lives and inform our politics. We understand the power of people coming together to demand our shared rights. Our lived experiences and deep connections to our communities have taught us about the power of local activism, and we’re bringing those voices with us to Congress. Together, we can make the bold changes people deserve.

Cori Bush’s dad was a union meat-cutter. And, as a single mother and a nurse living paycheck to paycheck while fighting alongside her community to defend Black lives, Cori will bring that lived experience with her to Congress to give our struggle a voice.

Jamaal Bowman was raised by his mom, who was a member of the Postal Workers Union. After working with his community to level the playing field in our education system, Jamaal started and now works as the principal of an innovative, community-focused public middle school in the Bronx. In Congress, he’ll keep fighting for students, teachers, and families.

By electing Cori and Jamaal to Congress, we’re creating a Democratic Party and a Congress that delivers for working people and marginalized communities across the country. We’re creating a society that doesn’t just work for the privileged few, but for all of us.
