Donald Trump has been vocal about recruiting an “army” of 50,000 poll-watchers to intimidate voters nationwide and sway the election in his favor. Now, USA Today is reporting that “voting rights activists and government officials said they worry Trump's supporters will scare away Democratic voters fearful of confrontation, including voters from Hispanic, Black, Asian and indigenous communities who have been disproportionately hurt by the pandemic, police violence, immigration enforcement and growing rates of hate crimes under the Trump administration.”

We cannot allow Trump to undermine our democratic process -- and our nation -- any longer. Democrats must turn out to vote in overwhelming numbers so Biden wins in such a landslide that Trump and Pence will be forced to slink back into the shadows. That’s why the team at ASPIRE is working hard to educate and activate voters of color, helping them find safe and effective ways to vote -- all with the goal of kicking Trump out, taking back the Senate, and protecting the House majority next week by electing progressive candidates of color who will fight for the rights of ALL Americans.

But Trump and the GOP know what they’re up against, and they’re afraid they won’t win fair and square -- which is why they’re pouring all their resources into voter suppression tactics to rig the system in their favor. ASPIRE knows that the only solution is to rev up our voter outreach, education, and mobilization efforts so that the very voters Trump is trying to scare away show up in droves and make their voices heard -- but right now, we’re running low on funds.

If we don’t raise another $4,250 before midnight, we’re going to have to scale back our funding for women and candidates of color who are committed to weeding out white supremacy from Washington and preserving the integrity of our democracy.
