You can believe that after last night's presidential debate, we have some *thoughts*.
To be clear, they're mostly good. It is revolutionary that there was that much time spent on gun violence prevention. Times are changing, and candidates are finally starting to stand up and say something about the epidemic that is killing us.
Like, look at this roundup of highlights from last night:
* Cory Booker ([link removed]) reminded the country that we need to be focused on all types of gun violence -- including the everyday shootings that affect communities around the country.
* Calling out the NRA is one of our favorite hobbies -- and Elizabeth Warren ([link removed]) did just that when she pointed out the corruption that is blocking life-saving legislation.
* 97% of Americans support background checks, including hunters and sportsmen, like the ones who Amy Klobuchar ([link removed]) represents.
* Joe Biden ([link removed]) pointed out the work of activists around the country who have turned their tragedies into a movement.
* Weapons of war don't belong on our streets or in our neighborhoods. Beto O’Rourke ([link removed]) called for a ban of these assault weapons, plain and simple.
* Kamala Harris ([link removed]) reminded the country about Generation Lockdown ([link removed]) , and the trauma our whole generation carries due to political inaction.
However, to end our country's gun violence epidemic and change the culture around guns, we can’t rely on one or two bills. We need a bold and comprehensive legislative agenda. We need the Peace Plan.
