FIRST: Polls showed that Sara Gideon was leading Senator Collins by a razor-thin margin.

THEN: POLITICO reported that the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC with ties to Mitch McConnell, has raised $50 million in the first two weeks of October. They are "flooding the zone with money" in Maine and other critical swing states to try and save Republicans' Senate majority.

NOW: If we don't have enough resources to fight back, we will be in serious trouble. And so will Democrats' chances of taking back the Senate.
