Well, the U.S. Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett yesterday and we
all know the potential devastating impact for people with preexisting
health conditions, women's reproductive rights, our environment, and
so much more.
But today I'm emailing about a different Supreme Court --
the Michigan Supreme Court!
The Michigan Supreme Court candidates are on the ballot -- and they
aren't in the partisan section. Please make sure to go to the
nonpartisan section and vote for Chief Justice Bridget McCormack as
well as Elizabeth Welch.
Chief Justice Bridget McCormack has been an exceptional leader on
criminal justice reform and access to our courts. And Elizabeth Welch
is an employment law expert, has worked to ensure voting rights, and
is a proven leader on environmental issues.
I have endorsed both McCormack and Welch --
and so has the Detroit Free Press!
We have just one week to go before Election Day, so let's make it
count. Please turn in your absentee ballot if you haven't
already.
If you have voting rights questions, please call
866-OUR-VOTE. Happy Voting!
With so much gratitude,
