Anyone who has organized knows the saying: when we fight together we win! This is of why DC JWJ and our allies have won so many campaigns for justice over the years. The Excluded Worker campaign was a shining example of this solidarity. Throughout the campaign, people from diverse backgrounds stood together: those with and without documents, people with jobs in the formal and informal economy, immigrants from many nations and speaking many languages, sex workers, returning citizens, street vendors, faith leaders, and more.

And through this unity, Excluded Workers won $14 million for DC families left behind. But we did even more than that. We built lasting relationships. Challenged elected leaders. Changed hearts and minds. And won inclusive language for all excluded workers
