John,
When we say that this is the most important election of our lifetimes, we mean it. That’s why I’ve been touring the United States by bus for the last month, talking to working people and encouraging them to get out and vote like our future depends on it—because it does
As part of the AFT Votes bus tour, I’m joining the Rev. Dr. William Barber today, Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m., for a press conference and get-out-the-vote car caravan in Raleigh, N.C. Click here to watch the livestream.
You know the stakes of this election are high. You know we need leadership to address the five concurrent crises our country is experiencing: COVID-19, the economic recession, systemic racism, climate change and threats to our democracy—crises that have been made worse by Donald Trump. You know Trump has refused to help schools reopen safely. And now, with the Senate GOP’s confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, the administration has what it needs to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, strip protections for workers and LGBTQ people, and tilt the election in Trump’s favor.
We can’t afford to tune out. We must turn out, and we must vote. For more information on voting in your state, visit the AFT Votes page here.
In unity,
