I can’t believe it, but here we are: Exactly one week away from Election Day. ONE WEEK!

The decision to run again for U.S. Senate was pretty simple. I'm sick and tired of Mississippi coming in last.

Here’s a true story. I woke up the other day and was reading my newspaper. The headline said, “Mississippi is 51st.” Fifty states, and Mississippi is ranked 51st (if you include the District of Columbia). And you know what we’re last in the most? Health care.

Our people have cancer, diabetes, asthma, heart disease. It’s just too much. And then, when you go to the doctor, you’re afraid to go because that bill is so high. Prescription drugs cost so much. Even when folks get sick, some won’t go to the doctor at all.

I’m running to be Mississippi’s Health Care Senator so that we’re no longer last in health care outcomes, and so that our people can get the care they need. But Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith? Well, that’s a different story.

My opponent wants to rip health care away from millions of people and end protections for people with pre-existing conditions, myself included. She joined Mitch McConnell in blocking desperately needed coronavirus relief. She even claimed this pandemic would go away in “a couple of weeks.”

Cindy Hyde-Smith has failed Mississippians and has nothing to show for her time in office. She hasn’t even passed a single bill in the U.S. Senate! Now Mississippi is last, last, LAST — not only in health care, but education and economic opportunities, too.

Mississippians deserve better health care, better education, better jobs, and a better reputation. In exactly one week, with enough support, we can move Mississippi one step closer to no longer being last.
